Willamette Disc Golf Club
Tournaments
Upcoming TournamentsSaturday, Dec 3, 2011 - WDGC President's Cup (Everett Kaser). And a map of the course layout, a safari-style temp layout at Adair Park. For club members only, so non-club members must purchase a 2012 club membership for $10 (per family).
Actual
TOURNAMENT HOLE/BASKET references below are capitalized. "Normal" Adair
course layout hole/basket references are lowercase.
On the map,
TEES are black squares with white numbers, basket positions are white
circles. The Officers Club (where the bathrooms are) is marked
with a red 'X', and the location of Tournament Central is beside the #1
parking lot, marked with a red 'TC.' We'll play in groups of 3
unless there are more than 51 players.
Players on HOLES 2 and 6
MUST stay aware of each other and use reasonable etiquette to avoid
getting in each others' way. If you're on HOLE #2, stand on the
tennis court side of your basket unless you're putting. If
you're driving on HOLE #6, don't throw when someone is putting from
between the road and BASKET #2.
MULLIGAN cards will be given
to those purchasing them (maximum of TWO total) before the morning
round, and may be used on any DRIVE, morning or afternoon. When used,
the card is surrendered to the score keeper, marked USED and the HOLE
#, and must be turned in with the scorecard. Mulligans cost $1
each, and buying into the Ace Pot costs $1. All Mulligan money is
added to the Ace Pot. If there are no Aces during the either
round of the Tournament, a Sudden-Death Putt-Off will be held for
everyone who bought into the Ace Pot (if you buy Mulligans but don't
buy into the Ace Pot, then you don't qualify for this possible
Putt-Off). There will be NO refund for unused Mulligan cards.
Any
throw that strikes a car, parked or moving, adds TWO penalty strokes to
the thrower's score in addition to the throw stroke (ie, throwing and
hitting a car is THREE strokes rather than ONE).
HOLE 1: Throw from tee #1 to basket #13-middle. ALL concrete and black-top is OB. HOLE 2:
TEE is in the middle of the old exercise area about 30 feet or so back
from the tennis court fence, to basket #1. ALL concrete and
black-top is OB EXCEPT the pavement BEYOND the far fence (between the
far fence and basket #1). The road AND beyond are OB. HOLE 3: The TEE is under the big fir tree, just to the right of the trunk, to basket #14-middle. HOLE 4: Throw from tee #15 to basket #16-middle (the new position). HOLE 5:
TEE is in a location giving a fairly clear, straight shot at basket
#17-short. Sorry, that's about the best I can describe it here
(if I remember right, it's a little bit towards basket #15 and a little
bit towards the tennis courts). The black-top walking path AND
BEYOND is OB. HOLE 6: TEE is
at top of hill past basket 17-long, SLIGHTLY to the left, on the
right-side of a tree trunk, so that you're looking pretty much straight
down the road between the two massive gate posts, and you'll probaby be
throwing over the right-hand (far side of road) gate. All grass
between the tee and the entry road is in-bounds, but once you pass the
left-hand gate post, the road (black-top) AND left of the road are
OB. The gravel on the right shoulder of the road is IN
bounds. You're throwing to basket #2 long (in the trees). HOLE 7: tee #3 to "Mt Everett" (at the top of the left-hand hill). HOLE 8: tee #4 to old LONG-LONG basket #4 position, just past the "beware of flying crap" sign at the edge of the woods. HOLE 9: tee #5 to basket #19 (practice basket). The road is OB, but both the near and far sides of the road are in bounds. HOLE 10: is just up from the corner of the parking lot, throwing to basket #12-long-right. HOLE 11: the TEE will be down from the furthest big fir tree, giving a fairly clear, open route to basket #18-long. Road is OB. HOLE 12:
the TEE about as far around the 'bend' as you can get and still
see the BASKET which will be a temp basket on tee #11. ALL roads (main
road AND the road into the sewage plant) AND beyond are OB. HOLE 13:
TEE on the high rise closest to the parking lot road, left of the small
tree, to basket #10-berm (the new position). There is JUST room
for a high-right route to the basket (up, over and around the trees),
as well as a LOW flat route in to the base of the berm. The black-top
road is OB. SPOTTER REQUIRED for players throwing high over the trees! HOLE 14:
walk along the berm (towards tee #10) until JUST before the
stairs. You'll have a fairly clear sight down to the left of the
berm to tee #10, which is where BASKET #14 will be. HOLE 15:
cross over the berm, walk to basket #9-left, turn left and walk
up-hill about 30-40 feet (veering SLIGHTLY to the left). There's
a spot where there's a narrow but fairly clear route up fairway #9,
over the bench and to basket #7-right. SPOTTER REQUIRED!!! HOLE 16:
TEE is just on the path-side of the basket #6-long-right (the
position everyone hates and we haven't used for a long time
because the anchor needs repair work). Standing JUST to the
left of the anchor, throw to basket #6-short. This is a VERY
short hole, but requires an accurate throw. HOLE 17: TEE is tee #6, over the berm to basket #5-long. The road and beyond are OB.
