Willamette Disc Golf Club Monthly Meeting. Feb 6, 2012 Minutes Present: Roy Albert, Brianna Anderson-Greg, Craig Banner, Bob Burton, Kelly Christianson, Andrew Downey, Bryce Downey, Mike Storrs, Bear Judge, Everett Kaser (Presiding), Jon Lebsack, Mike Gibson, Karl Pilotte, Dave Pittman, Jay Sexton, Nate Sexton, Jesse Seibel, Kirk McCallister, Mike Key, Dave Stewart, Conner Smith. Treasurer’s Report (Greg in absentia) current status 4400 dollars. Disc Inventory is low after Festivus player pack and sales that day. April Fools doubles for Ams will be 2 rounds of 22 on Saturday, March 31st. Pros will play on Sunday the 1st. Adair (Nate/Roy) Nate originally proposed cutting 5 small cherry trees reduced to 3 cherry trees named 1,3 and 4 (from N to S). He explained his reasoning. Kelly pointed out that the change will benefit the forehand throwers, and there is another thumber route which isn’t affected. Briana pointed out that for those of us who don’t think of throwing in one but rather 2 throws, the current mish of trees removes any real fairway.—A member by member, tree by tree vote was taken and those that received 2/3 of voting to be cut, including write-in votes) were trees #1, and #3, sparing 2, 4, and 5. Adair Doubles (Craig). Mike Gibson depleted the Ace Pot with an ace at 8 in the straight ahead over the water position. The kitty still has lots of money for the promised party and future aces. Willamette Open At the beginning of the meeting we still did not have a volunteer to be TD! As a PDGA sanctioned tournament it is a special job. Nate volunteered to do preliminary preparation if someone would do the “day-of” portion of the labor. Someone else needs to be named TD and do the “day-of”. July 14 and 15 were suggested this time as the weekend that has been reserved. Mike Key, Andrew Downey, and Everett Kaser volunteered to help day-of, but nobody yet has come forth to do the formal TD role. Public Hearing Kelly reported that 8 of our members attended and Greg Alpert spoke well for the need for more disc golf courses. Only 25 or so people total attended this hearing for the report of the consultants who recommended the formation of a Park District. PDGA Club Membership Jay again offered to be the clearing person to sign up the club as a member club, thus entitling each of us a discount on our personal membership fees which we will need to give to him so that he can remit the money and info together to Augusta, GA. WDGC Blodgett Invitational (Greg) will be Apr 28, 2012. Disc Sales (Dave) Nearly all Festivus discs were sold: 135 discs had been bought, 154 were given away or sold. Innova is releasing a series of 130-160 gram discs which are champion type plastic with air bubbles. They will come in Wraith, Boss, and some other models. Note: next month’s meeting will be March 5, 2012 at 6 PM (Daylight Savings Time starts on Sunday March 11, so the April 2 meeting will start at 7 PM). Respectfully submitted, Bob Burton, secy.
