Attendance: Mike Gibson, Jay Sexton, Dave Pittman, Mike Storrs, Everett Kaser, Jim Dubay, Jason Hill, Richard Raymond, Kelly Christiansen, Greg Johnson, Casey Lohrman, Ted Harbaugh, Rick Reichard. Adair Report: (Mr. Kaser) The basket that was crushed has been restored and looks good in its alt placement on Number 12. The stairs on hole 10 have been filled in and are safe to use. The ditch near hole 14 has been finished. Several benches need anchoring and Parks may be helpful. Willamette Report: (Mr. Sexton) Some benches may be changed and the possibility of alternative tee pads is being considered. Disc Tsar: (Mr. Pittman) All but a few of the 50 Festivus club discs have been sold. There were 88 given out in players packs and 10 as closest to pin awards. All the Pro Katanas have been sold at $12 each. We will be ordering the Star Katanas, which are being offered as fundraisers for the World Championships. The next order will also include discs with Squirrels logo that are being funded by Squirrels The Invitational on Mr. Johnson’s property in Blodgett has been set for March 20, 2010—Mr. Ross’ birthday and the first day of spring. Doubles Report: (Mr. Gibson) People are still showing up for the event. There were 11 out yesterday. Yesterday saw scores of 11 down and 10 down in a non-random format. Next week complete random. There have been a couple of aces. Mike Key hit two recently. Brad McDougal also hit one. They’ve still got money to pay out from the ace pot—about $200 or more. He had no total cash on hand figures for the meeting. Mr. Banner was in California. A couple of times we’ve had horses with young women riders riding through. There were horses on tennis court and around 18. They have had a civil war reenactment group a couple of years ago but horses were considered too destructive for that. They also have some reenactments at Milo State Park and some of the other undeveloped state parks. Handicap Report: (Mr. Storrs) Mr. Storrs went out Sunday and nobody showed up to run it. Doubles players didn't hold over for handicap but chose to play extra round of doubles. So there was no handicap. Next Sunday Mr. Storrs wants a substitute to run the event. He will put out an e-mail on Super Bowl Sunday or may cancel it for Super Bowl. No need for handicap and people should play random doubles. Treasurer’s Report: (Mr. Johnson) We owe $1500 to Innova with balance of 2750, rounded off, include ace pot money in reserve. Still have about $200 with Mr. Banner in addition to the account. The next disc run will be funded largely by Squirrels and we have insurance to pay. A bill should be forthcoming and less than $400. Dave has about $200 in club funds. The Insurance bill paid in March of last year to Francis L. Dean for the record. Festivus Report: (Mr. Johnson) The Festivus Score board was brought in to show the complete results. (Some people couldn't bear to look) He offered thanks to those who helped out with food or getting the mats out, setup, and design. All in all, everything went smoothly. We finished by dark. The new holes were appreciated, said Mr. Gibson. He has some lost and found items to identify owners. Jera Gumm left several items, including discs and water jugs. Payouts were 40 percent for pros, 45 percent for advanced, and 50 percent for intermediates. Mr. Johnson covered the cost of the trophies. Some suggestions were offered for raffle procedures next time. The Proposed date of March 20th for the club invitational was announced. Work parties will need to be organized in advance. Gleaners might be able to help with the downed trees. President’s report: Members may wish to renew their PDGA membership though the club to save $5. Club memberships were also solicited. We’re up to 14 members vs. about 50 last year. Some members paid at the meeting. Were reapplying for the insurance and city not requiring a higher amount of liability. We ended up with 80 people signed up on waivers that won’t have to sign up again this year. Officers were elected for 2010, including Mr. Sexton as President, Mr. Johnson as Treasurer, and Dr. Bob Burton as Secretary. Mr. Sexton agreed to run for president again but he wants people to think about running next time. Since there was only one nominee per position so it was considered not worth voting online or otherwise.. Mr. Sexton said he has got to find a new place for The Presidents cup, and Cascadia or Sweet Home are possible. There’s a new River Bend park in Lynn county. It’s a Park of several hundred acres on the Calapooia with several small hills. Mr. Pittman offered under other business that the tournament season has begun and The Beaver State Fling will open registration for pros march 1st amateurs on the 15th. It sold out in hours last year and pm it pro side in 48 hours. There is only online registration through the event site. The Great Northwest Open will be in April with similar competition for spots. It will be the last weekend before May, he thinks. They are both out on the schedule. GNW may be a week earlier this year. Mike Souchaki is planning an e-mail for clubs to sponsor holes at a triples event April 10 and 11. Mr. Sexton will bring it up next meeting for $50 sponsorship. It may be a two division, pro-am tournament at McIver. Details forthcoming when Mr. Johnson gets them. Getting the Oregon state series running has been talked about on web discussion site. There proposal this year is a dollar from each player at each event for trophies to top three and payout to top 3 pros and if you play all 7 a gift. No qualifier. Will be run by Dion and Mike Phillips. There are some questions about how it will work. There are also players who want to resurrect triples to be run by Jerry Miller at Wortman in McMinville with a tournament layout. Timber Linn has been laid out to play backward for second nine. There’s one big bottleneck but the layout is much better at this point. Waterloo still playable as of a month ago.
