Minutes of the Willamette Disc Golf Club Jan 8, 2008 Present John Ross, Jay Sexton, (presiding), Nate Sexton, Greg Johnson, Jim Dubay, Everett Kaser, Richard Raymond, Colin Sexton, David Pitman, Brett Morrisett, Casey Lohrman, Eric Smith, Kelley Christianson and Bob Burton. Treasurer: (Greg): approx 2600 dollars right now in acct, various fluxes cited, Festivus fees, disc purchases, etc. Calapooia is contributing to the player pack heavy mini drivers excellent for mini golf. Discs for tournament and club sales were discussed. He expects the cost and income from Festivus to balance out. Festivus: club members will donate Chili, cornbread, and malt beverages. Greg may have some new tee pads and basket placements with 23 holes total, but course is likely to be mostly as previously played in earlier Festivuses. There will be a free raffle. There will be CTP prizes at every hole with group-specific and open holes, and a one to a customer rule. Adair Report: (Everett) Work party planned for next Sat. 10 AM to spread gravel around tees and wood chips on muddy paths. We have 15 tons of gravel in the parking lot. We may need member wheelbarrows for #5-6 path and #4 path. Brandon Hill related that Sat. February 9th he plans to have Albany disc golf monthly tournament at Adair. He also informed us that Team Disc Golf is planning to play at Adair on Sunday Feb 10th. This will be a crowded day if the weather is permissive. Willamette: There are new locks on tees. Adair Doubles: no report. It continues to happen on Sundays. Adair Handicap: 11 players showed up in the rain last Sunday. Eric Smith won it with a 1 under par. Participation has been faithful at about this level this winter. Disc Czar: (Dave Pitman): We will be ordering more discs after Festivus; suggestions are solicited right now. What is left over after Festivus are expected to be good, saleable, desirable discs. President's Report: (Jay Sexton): PDGA memberships are being taken right now via the club. For 25 dollars we have affiliate club status and this entitles us to a club website linked to PDGA website and some other notice by PDGA. Jay pointed out that it is possible to become a PDGA official via the training available online. He is working on club bylaws and will present it to a meeting soon. His request for permission to spend 50$ on plants (shrubs) for enhancement of the Adair course, passed unanimously on voice vote. Meeting adjourned promptly. R Burton secy.
